The Cat, the Montyccino and me.
It was a brisk and chilly night before the torrential rain that trapped our hero and his then and now not so present companion in Monty’s elevated London location. The perfect evening, thought Monty, for benefits from the merits of his particular occupation.
Freezing fresh from the frosty outdoors, each were well fed and watered from a delightful local bistro (a regular haunt for Monty on his cavaliering jaunts), however the rain and cold seemed set to encourage slumber without intervention. Mindful of this (and with plenty of the evening left to unfold) our tatty cat lazily span across the parquet, cantering seamlessly from record to player to spark to flame, with only time to catch the (surely self-intended) slip of a beguiling smile from his companion. As the ribbons of the warm fire wrapped up the room, Monty waltzed into his kitchen, winking back as he did, “this cat will be back in another wink of an eye, I’m off to prepare you something that I’d like you to try”.
Following much bubbling, clinking, stirring and plinking our hero returned, tray aloft with a monument of chocolate perfection; a box a piece of his seductively delicious dusted truffles (Chilli and Orange for a fruity spark) while in the centre stood 2 tall, froth topped and steaming china flutes.
“May I introduce the Montyccino!” the cat in charge declared, “a truly exceptional creamy hot chocolate finished with the inclusion of a truffle or three, the perfect fireside night cap for you, the sounds of the thunderstorm, and me...”
Apropos take heed, my chocolate loving friends, of this tatty cat’s sage and well earned advices; one needs not elaborate tricks or devious devices, to win the hearts of our female vices, only the grace and poise of one’s affections unfurled (reinforced might I add with a truffle in chocolate hot, dipped, dropped and swirled) with intent for your partner to feel the centre of your world.
Warmest regards (as warm as possible in this weather)
The Cat in Charge
