Greetings all,

This is a little earlier than usual, however had to share this cracking email as it did make this cat chuckle:-

Dear Monty, you being the cat in charge I thought I should drop you a line to say how much I have enjoyed my fireside fudge with crystallised ginger. I do agree that it is the richest and tastiest delectable fudge. Purrrr fection...meow! I can tell from the packaging that you are 'top dog', pardon the pun. When my human opened up the packet I awoke from my own cosy fireside and leapt onto her lap, purring profusely, rubbing my nose along the edge of the box, just delightful Monty, as you can imaging. We have really bonded since that night so thank you for understanding humans and their need to develop good relations with their master. Regards. Fudge.
P.s. Please send her another box soon xx

Thank you Fudge for your considerate email - with your human companion suitably topped up with delectable treats I would expect you have run of the manor. Glad to hear things are as they should be!

~Kind regards,

Greetings this fine December,

Many might have noticed that I have been rather incommunicado these last few weeks - this can be attributed purely to the blistering activity here at MB head office that has consumed my time almost entirely. All swanning has ceased, naps a thing of the past, indeed this tatty cat has not had his ear scratched for many a late night(!). Much however I am pleased to report has been achieved for this high price.
Hence the present stream of consciousness - an update of sorts for all (or anyone) interested in the musings and movements of the cat in charge.

First things first - sales are booming! My dusted truffles are selling a storm in Waitrose as well as in their new outlets in Tesco, Boots, Julian Graves and One Stop! I continue to receive frequent and entertaining mail from inspired truffle lovers praising their cocoa dusted chocolatey heavenliness - correspondence I will never tire of receiving. Likewise I have been besieged with much buoyant beaming praise for my Best of British Sweetie Tubs in Tesco likewise going down a sweetie storm - it fills this cat with kitty satisfaction to imagine hundreds of stockings chocker with MB tasty noshables this Christmas!

Next in the scattershot of thoughts from my ditzy brain comes my divine Dragée. My word are these worth a try - found in your local Waitrose and made with a recipe that I developed closely with my chocolatiers to bring to the shelves (in tidy vivid MB bundles) a truly luxury eat. During their development I (naturally) researched much of the comparable offers in the marketplace. I can say with honest candour that these were unanimously mediocre. The nuts were flavourless, and the fruit was dry and artificial. From this less-than-satisfactory fieldwork I drove doubly hard - experimenting with heightening flavour by flame toasting my hazelnuts and selecting only the most moist and soft, succulent orange peel. These ingredients perfected I moved on to choosing the enrobing chocolate, selecting a range with delicately complimentary notes to create the ultimate Dragée eat. This I can report with confidence I have achieved - take it from the cat in charge!

Easter Egg creation is well under way for our Best of British range that will be stocked in Waitrose and Tesco - the range, affectionately named by yours truly as the 'grandfather clock' eggs are packed full of sugary goodness with delicious creamy milk chocolate eggs within.

Last but by no means least comes Robinsons. I am exceptionally proud of my Robinsons and Fruit Shoot confectionery development team. Each one an electrifying sparkful brain box of enigmatic ideas and explosive potential! From this mélange of creativity has come a range of new sugar confections matching the Robinsons flavours that I truly cannot wait to unleash. Unfortunately these are extremely top secret and it's not worth my few remaining whiskers to tell you all just yet.

Keep the mail, Facebook messages and tweets coming - I love to read them when I achieve a moments peace.

Warmest regards,

As the Wimbledon Tennis Championship looms, this cat has launched into Hancocks cash and carry a range of three Robinsons Pick & Mix fruit jars full of juicy fruit sweets!

These 2.72kg jars are packed full of individually wrapped Robinsons sweets, made with natural flavours, natural colours and fruit juices. The flavours at launch are:-

Robinsons Barley Fruits
Robinsons Classic Fruits
Robinsons Apple & Blackcurrant

“We are really excited about this exclusive launch and Robinsons sweets should be a great addition to our existing range of sweet jars. Pick and mix sweets continue to be a strong growth area within confectionery and retailers now understand the high margins that this sector can command.

Sugar confectionery comes into its own during the summer months and as Robinsons has such a strong association with Wimbledon, June is the perfect time to launch Robinsons sweets which we expect to become a firm favourite very quickly indeed” says Jonathan Summerley, Hancocks purchasing director.
Warmest Regards,
The Cat in Charge

Greetings all, the tip-toppiest cat Delia Smith has written a rather flattering article about my utterly delicious new truffle flavours, read on!:-

"I must admit that chocolate isn’t one of the things that gets me excited usually, but the new Dusted Truffles from Monty Bojangles were, without doubt, the best chocolates I’ve eaten in a long time: melt in the mouth, with a dusting of fine cocoa. Their slightly misshapen look just added to their appeal, giving them a hand-made air. There are new variants in the range: Spicy and Stunning Ginger, Pure and Playful Cocoa Nib and Rich and Ravishing Toasted Hazelnut, which have been added to the existing Chocolatey, Orange, Cookie, Chilli and Toffee & Salt. For me, the Spicy and Stunning Ginger was the favourite, as the hot ginger neatly cut through the richness of the chocolate. Truly sublime... find them at Waitrose, from £2.03."

Original webpage on Delia Online

Greetings all, behold my find of the week; the most fantastically pleasing review written by a customer, found on Ciao:-

"I recently sampled some rather scrumptious truffles and need to tell you all about them as they are simply divine and everyone needs to go out and purchase some and if you get to the end of this review and haven’t gone and sought some out then you are probably too late and they will have already sold out as these are the best kept secret ever!

These spectacular truffles go by the name of Monty Bojangles Fine French Cocoa Dusted Truffles Cookie. They are described as “Tantalizing and tasty fine French luxury truffles with cookie pieces and chocolate chips finished with a generous dusting of exquisite bitter sweet cocoa” and this by the trade descriptions act has to be rated as spot on! There made in Angers, France based on a traditional homemade truffle recipe from 1934.
They come in a cute little brown box with a picture of a fresh looking cookie and a really well dusted truffle on and the full description written in white and brown highlighting the ingredients. The box looks luxurious and very expensive and that’s why I was really shocked when I found out the price £2.00 in Waitrose! Unfortunately I don’t live near a Waitrose and sampled some on an aircraft where they were priced at £3.50 and I don’t even think that is over cooking the price as you are buying into true taste heaven. I have also now found out from the product website that they sell online for £2.34 but have a delivery fee of £3.95 so I think it works out cheaper for me to continue to get them off the aircraft. Once you open the box you are faced with a plastic bag that you have to open to get into the truffles I personally don’t really like that and think it cheapens the product and think a different wrapping would make them feel a lot more upmarket. The bag is full of truffles about the size of a small bouncy ball and each one looks equally coated in cocoa dust. The smell is heaven sent and you would be a very strong person to turn down a taste of one of these truffles because as soon as the aroma of fresh chocolate hits your nostrils your tastes buds are screaming let me have one, let me have one! As soon as you bite into one you immediately taste pure chocolate i am not sure how much cocoa content there is in these truffles but I would say quite a bit. You cant put a full truffle in your mouth, as that would spoil the experience, as it really is something to be savoured. As you take your second bite you start to pick up the small pieces of chocolate chip and you also get a really nice texture of chewy pieces that are the cookie but I wouldn’t have known what it was unless I had read the box. The cookie mixture is disguised in the chocolate but then when you have finished the truffle you realise you have experienced a mixture of cookie and chocolate combined without even knowing it they are infused together cleverly and the pleasant aftertaste is of cookie and chocolate. Each truffle seems unique and you get a different amount of choc chip and cookie in each which makes it really nice as some you get are really chocolaty and others really cookie.Once you’ve experienced complete heaven and finally swallow the truffle it glides down your throat like velvet so smooth and soft it doesn’t feel like you have committed a sin at all.

Now I’ve tried these truffles my taste buds are begging for more so I am thinking now which to try next
Hot and Heavenly Chilli Cocoa , Scrumptious and Sassy Toffee and Salt Cocoa, Flirtatious and Fruity Orange and Lavish and Luscious Chocolaty.
The brand also produces other sweet products that I wont go into but from the success I have had with these truffles I would not think twice about buying other products from the brand.
To conclude I like these truffles a little bit and would give them a 1 out of 10 and that stands for 1 million out of 10 I am a big sweetie person but have to admit I never really go for truffles as I normally find them too chocolaty but these are so different to any other truffle I have had before and I have tried quite a few as its something my gran used to get every Christmas for some reason. I think Monty has come up with the perfect product here as not only are they really tasty and frightfully Moorish they come in 100g packs so you don’t over indulge too much to go off them as I have been known to eat too much of something I like and go completely off it. These boxes of truffles are great for 2 as a cheeky treat or as a nice gift that would be totally appreciated if anymore than 2 people tucked in you would be seriously annoyed as you only get about 8 in a pack and you so cannot survive on less than 4 each guaranteed! These would be perfect for after dinner to round off a meal if you were to produce these your guests would be seriously impressed!

The secret is out go and get your box FAST!!!"
